About the Position: Serves as a Senior Realty Specialists with overall responsibility for processing and coordinating all acquisition, management, disposal, transfer, exchange, and sales transactions necessary to accomplish the Real Estate mission within the District's military and civil mission boundaries for the team's designated customers.
Duties
Provides oversight and direction in the negotiation and preparation of out grants authorizing the temporary use of Government property to other Government agencies, state and political subdivisions and private individuals.
Assures that all Real Estate actions are processed, and the files are documented in accordance with all appropriate environmental laws and regulations.
Conducts necessary negotiations for acquisition or control of real property in the name of the Government when such property is to be used for military purposes.
Reviews leases and rental agreements actions to assure compliance with policies and regulations and to protect the best interest of the Government.
Assures encroachments on Government owned or leased properties are resolved in accordance with the District policy and appropriate laws and regulations.
Serves as primary point of contact and technical expert for projects assigned to the team.
Assigns work within the team, sets priorities, and schedules work efforts of team members making adjustments as needed.
Requirements

- Must possess a valid state driver's license to operate motor vehicles in accomplishing assigned duties.
- Duties require travel up to 30% of the time.

GS-12 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing workload of mapping requests and maintenance of Geographic Information Systems, managing a real property program that includes management, disposal and utilization; and leading a team to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned objectives; applying real estate principles, regulations, practices and techniques to acquire lands in fee, easements, and lesser interests for Federal projects; implement regulations, laws, and established district policies; prepares real estate reports for the transfer of real property interests. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
