This vacancy is for a Program Analyst position in the Department of Commerce located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.
Duties
Support the Operations Manager in the Office of the Deputy Director with a combination of program management and advanced administrative support functions.
Analyze and evaluates on a quantitative/qualitative basis the effectiveness of program operations in meeting established goals and objectives.
Develops procedures and systems for assessing the effectiveness of programs and/or management processes.

This is a competitive temporary appointment opportunity not to exceed (NTE) 13 months or 9/26/2024, whichever comes first; this temporary appointment may be extended or terminated earlier.
For permanent Census employee, this is a competitive temporary promotion opportunity not to exceed (NTE) 13 months or 9/26/2024, whichever comes first. This temporary promotion may be extended, terminated earlier, or made permanent at management's discretion. At the conclusion of the temporary promotion, the permanent Census employee will return to their position of record.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: analyzing and advising senior staff and office chiefs in the Office of Deputy Director on budget planning and execution of current and multi-year budget and programs; assisting staff with interagency agreements and developing procedures for responding to data calls and inquiries.
