About the Position: US Army Medical Materiel Development Activity (USAMMDA) is the DoD's advanced medical materiel development activity for products designed to protect and preserve the lives of Service members. USAMMDA develops new drugs, vaccines, and medical support devices that enhance readiness, ensure provisions of the highest quality medical care to the DoD and maximize the survival of medical casualties on the battlefield.

Duties

Plan, coordinate and evaluate the logistics required to support designated program, preparing required documentation to include Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP). Maintain appropriate records, evaluate statistical data, validate costs, and assist in the conduct of market research as part of an Integrated Product Team. Develop and coordinate new procedures, interprets existing and new Department of Defense (DoD) logistics policies. Establish points of contact and maintain liaison with counterparts across all Service components to ensure familiarity with Joint regulations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Incumbent may be required to complete a two year probationary period.

USAMMDA is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Personnel Demonstration Project (PDP). The DJ-03 payband is equivalent to the GS-11 step 1 to GS-12 step 10 level. In keeping with the Demonstration pay fixing policies, employees earning a salary that falls within this payband equivalent, may not receive an immediate pay increase (promotion) if appointed to this position. Future pay increases within the payband will be accomplished through the pay for performance management system. One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience performing medical logistics functions such as inventory management, procurement and acquisition; 2) Experience interpreting policies and procedures regarding logistics management program functions; AND 3) Experience utilizing enterprise-wide logistics systems to input/retrieve data and prepare reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (DJ-02 / GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
