This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for Defense Human Resources Agency's mission is to provide program support, information management, and administrative services to the DoD Components on human resource matters and to collect, archive, and provide management information, research, and analysis of human resources and other related functional area databases for the DoD.

Duties

As a IT PROJECT MANAGER (INFOSEC/SYSANALYSIS) at the GS-2210-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: Comprehensive knowledge to resolve problems and to provide authoritative advice on decisions or recommendations significantly changing, interpreting, or developing important IT policies and programs in order to ensure compliance with approved plans. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Federal and DoD policies, procedures, and regulations governing information management for major automated information systems, and life cycle management in order to ensure that policies, plans and programs are in strict compliance. Thorough knowledge of Project Management principles and working knowledge and familiarization with IT operations and support best practices, specifically the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) methodology and practices. Comprehensive knowledge of program management theories, principles, and practices combined with a understanding of the analytical, evaluative, and administrative methods and techniques required for managing information systems programs including life cycle management, in order to develop new and innovative approaches, identify and establish evaluation criteria to determine program effectiveness, and to analyze and resolve technical problems. Comprehensive knowledge of information management policies and techniques, information systems, business process improvement, benchmarking and best practices, infom1ation technology life cycle , program and project management. strategic planning. and performance measurement in order to direct program formulation, planning, organization. and team studies.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the 11 grade level in the Federal service: Develops modified IT management processes and systems and data management plans. Applying analytical/evaluative methods/techniques to issues concerning the efficiency/effectiveness of substantive program operations. Leads in support for planning, development, and implementation of improvements in information technology services, capabilities, and IT standards in support of assigned programs. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210 series.
