About the Position: This position is located at US Army Sustainment Command 404th Army Field Support Brigade Command Group, Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA. Serves as a Management Support Specialist for an Army Sustainment Command (ASC) Army Field Support Brigade (AFSB). Performs a wide range of duties in support of the administrative operations and management functions of the organization.
Duties
Plans, develops, and coordinates administrative and management support functions such as interpreting regulatory directives and procedures.
Apply analytical and evaluative methods and techniques when working special projects and action items.
Provide support for one-time, special, and recurring projects and programs to ensure requirements, management goals, and objectives are met.
Review administrative directives and publications and assures that new information/instructions reaches organizational elements, supervisors, and employees.
Analyze and evaluates administrative program requirements to include studying and developing ways to improve the accuracy, timeliness, and processes of required actions.
Serve as the focal point for the receipt and review of incoming tasks, projects, correspondence and other communications and materials.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Position requires incumbent to travel up to 20% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specializedexperience that includesproviding management assistance and administrative support services such as responding to inquiries and assisting with administrative problems; maintaining internal personnel records; and preparing and editing technical and administrative reports.

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: business, public administration, or management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
