Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for enforcing Federal Criminal and Civil laws that protect life, liberty and the property of citizens. You will support the office in building and promoting community engagement as part of the Department's MMIP initiatives.
Promotes communication, coordination and collaboration among federal, Tribal, state, and local partners to prevent and resolve MMIP-related cases and issues.
Develop and implement MMIP-related strategies and program activities
Coordinating MMIP-related programs and training of mutual interest by providing a regular forum for organizational representatives.
Develop and maintain professional contacts to best accomplish the goals of the Department
Designs, plans, and directs the dissemination of information and resources pertinent to the prevention and response to MMIP-related issues.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable
- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.
Qualifications
GS-12: To be qualified at the GS-12 level, applicants must specifically demonstrate in their resume that they have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined below:
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 11 level. Specialized Experience is defined as:
1. program management experience that includes developing, implementing, and overseeing project/program milestones, deliverables, and strategic plans to prevent and reduce violent crime.
2. direct and regular contact, collaboration, and coordination with representatives of law enforcement, specifically, federal, state, county, municipal AND tribal law enforcement agencies that are external to the agency for the direct purpose of resolving challenges in urban, suburban, rural, AND tribal communities.
3. developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships with community groups and/or representatives of agencies and organizations that provide education, social services, or other similar support to communities.
4. Planning, coordinating, and speaking at meetings, training, and other events
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
