About the Position: Supervises and integrates the activities of the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) G-4, Logistics Operations Branch and is a senior functional specialist on logistics sustainment functions and installation support operations and policies and procedures with the responsibility of integrating the logistics functions consisting of supply, services and transportation into a unified logistics program.
Duties
Develops plans and programs, and reviews policies and procedures related to logistics operations management activities within U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) Units.
Analyzes and interprets United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and Department of the Army (DA) regulations, directives, technical and doctrinal publications, policy and instructions related to logistics operations.
Conducts staff visits and on-site reviews of logistics program implementation.
Represents the USASOC as the Army Service Component (ASCC) Command representative to higher echelon convened boards, councils, groups or committees pertaining to assigned areas of responsibility.
Directs, coordinates and oversees the daily operations of the administrative and contingency transportation execution requirements, conventional and special ammunition, supply and support services, and installation logistics operation oversight.
Provides oversight and supervision to the commands senior ammunition managers for both conventional and special ammunition, with major duties that includes Title 10 ammunition, basic and operational loads, War Reserve, and special projects.
Evaluates supply and service readiness of the supported units to determine their capabilities to successfully accomplish assigned missions.
Supervises a staff of 3 Government civilians (GS-12, X2), 3 military personnel (2X CW4, E-7) and provide contract oversight of 10 contractor employees.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is a drug testing designated position. In accordance with AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, the incumbent must successfully pass a urinalysis screening prior to the appointment and periodically thereafter.
- May require TDY travel up to 40% of the time.
- One year probationary period may be required, unless previously completed.
- One year supervisory probationary period may be required, unless previously completed.
- The incumbent must obtain and maintain a Top Secret Special-Sensitive (SS) Security Clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Info. Intelligence Community Dir 704.
- This position is designated as Emergency Essential.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in: 1) Developing short- and long-range logistics supply plans and/or programs that significantly affect a Special Operations military command. 2) Assessing supply and service readiness of supported commands to determine their capabilities. 3) Preparing reports concerning logistics management supply planning and analysis. 4) Developing policy and program guidance and/or procedures for all aspects of logistics operations to include contingency plans.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
