You will serve as a HUMANITARIAN & CIVIC ASSISTANCE COORDINATOR in the Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Fleet Heath Services COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 9.28% will be added to the stated salary.

Duties

You will assist PACFLT Fleet Health Services in the identification of PACFLTs response to disasters in designated "at risk" countries to determine appropriate needs for contingency planning for personnel and resources. You will assist in developing the medical requirements of the medical humanitarian or civic assistance aspect of INDOPAC/PACFLT strategic operations and crisis action planning products; developing and preparing plans, objectives and taskers. You will support N1, N3 and N5 PACFLT directorates and Indo-Pacific Command's J07 in defining a strategy for military coordination, which will include guidelines for determining U.S. Navy participation in humanitarian or civic operations. You will represent Fleet Health Services at planning conferences involving international medical partners, NGOs, and PACFLT directorates in planning medical humanitarian and civic assistance missions. You will liaison with the U.S. Navy, other U.S. Armed forces, other branches of the U.S. Government, international military partners and non-government and international organizations to seamlessly coordinate humanitarian or civic assistance. You will analyze past metrics and utilize strategies to determine whether U.S. Navy participation in a specific humanitarian or civic activity is necessary and useful, providing reports and evaluations to PACFLT Surgeon. You will review, monitor and provide guidance for medical projects in the Overseas Humanitarian Assistance Shared Information System (OHASIS) program management system to ensure all records, communication, forms, files are complete.

  • This position requires travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: overseeing Medical Humanitarian and Civic Assistance programs in support of PACFLT humanitarian missions to build Host Nation Capacity and Interoperability for Disaster relief.
