The primary purpose of this position is to provide assistance supporting the Air Force Security Assistance and Cooperation (AFSAC) Directorate Front Office Group and as-directed support to the 3-letter divisions.

Duties

Leads technical and functional experts in the work efforts to prepare briefings, papers and special projects for the Operations Division Chief and Front Office Group Leadership. Works with senior-level management and leads functional experts on a variety of Division-related issued and projects to ensure products reflect a fully-staffed and coordinated position. Reviews, evaluates, and provides recommendations/trend analysis based on logistics measures. Engages in self-development activities and Organizations Process Improvements

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, administrative and management positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Knowledge of staff office projects and ability to stay abreast of new initiatives within the Front Office Group and FMS enterprise. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods. Ability to plan, conduct, and record results of conferences, seminars, and meeting along with the flexibility to organize multiple/rapidly-changing priorities and projects with many variables. Ability to learn and understand AFSAC's mission, schedules special projects and functional areas. General knowledge of the major issues in AFMC, AFLCMC, and AF impacting FMS and security assistance/ cooperation is required in order to recommend topics for conferences, meetings, briefings, etc. Ability to understand interrelationships of programs and functions within AFLCMC, AFSAC, AFMC and the Air Staff. Ability to assess a project to determine requirements, the ability to recognize and analyze potential problems, conduct research, and summarize results, and the ability to develop and utilize appropriate data collection techniques. Skill in designing and conducting comprehensive studies and developing solutions. Ability to maintain good working relationships including meeting and interacting with customers using a high degree of tact, diplomacy and conflict resolution techniques, manifesting maturity and personal decorum complimenting Front Office Group representation. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and negotiate complex issues and positions. Ability to adeptly use computer/software to enter, track, maintain, and retrieve data. Ability to compile reports, produce charts and graphs, or monitor project status. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-?grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of staff office projects and ability to stay abreast of new initiatives within the Front Office Group and FMS enterprise. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
