Duties

As a Supervisory Program Manager (DSMS) at the GS-0340-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the Nuclear Enterprise Directorate, Nuclear Logistics Operations Department (NE-NLO) Division Chief and Defense Stockpile Management System (DSMS) Program Manager for development and production management of information systems including DIAMONDS, DSMS, and the DIAMONDS Energy xChange portal, Nuclear Management Information System (NUMIS), Joint Application Development (JADE), Nuclear Inventory Management and Cataloging System (NIMACS), and DIAMONDS Accountability Training System (DATS). Directs and reviews teams located in DTRA Washington, Albuquerque and contractor personnel involved with planning and executing these programs. Provides supervision and programmatic guidance to both the Nuclear Logistics Operations Stockpile Branch and the Nuclear Logistics Operations Technical Branch chiefs/project officers. Incumbent is the final authority for all activities within the DSMS information system program and stockpile operations related to the nation's nuclear stockpile reporting and accountability functions. Plans, organizes, and directs the operations of the DSMS software application development team and a worldwide IT network. Establishes long range, intermediate and short-range plans; allocates resources and provides a reporting and evaluation system to determine project effectiveness.

  • Must be able to obtain/maintain Program Management, Level 2 Practitioner acquisition certification.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid passport.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Using program management practices, procedures, and policies in the maintenance, modification and sustainment of an Information System; Managing a program which encompasses several diverse functions and missions that align to a common program goal; and Managing of a distributed and geographically separated workforce consisting of both government and contractor personnel. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
