The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a Sexual Assault Victim Advocate to eligible installation level military, civilians, and dependents.
Duties
DUTY 1: Serves as an installation Sexual Assault Victim Advocate providing a wide range of essential support and advocacy services, liaison services, and care to victims of sexual assault in accordance with generally accepted procedures and techniques.
DUTY 2: Maintains support and follow-up contact with sexual assault victims throughout the lifecycle of the case.
DUTY 3: Assists the installation SARC in the development and delivery of comprehensive sexual assault training to comply with Department of Defense (DoD) requirements.
DUTY 4: Represents the SAPR installation program at both military and civilian agencies.

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance w/access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

Qualifications
This is a GG-11 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-11 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-11 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, issues, etc., relating to sexual assault, Vitim advocacy, and other acts of interpersonal violence to plan, organize, implement, and carry out the components of an interpersonal violence preventions and response program. Knowledge of a wide range of practices and procedures associated with victim advocacy, social services delivery systems and other elements of specialized social service program and behavioral or social science principles to assist with the activities of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program at the Air Force installation. Skill in applying knowledge to accomplish a variety of difficult and complex work assignments in carrying out the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program. Ability to advise program officials, including the installation's top leadership and salvation personnel on policies, practices, procedures, issues, and concerns associated with sexual assault and other acts of interpersonal violence and prevention, response, and victim advocacy. Ability to function as liaison to installation and community organizations and offices to establish, maintain, and provide prevention programs and victim support in a wide variety of situations. EDUCATION: I have successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as accounting, finance, economics, organizational management, or related field of study. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your official transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: I have less than the full amount of specialized experience required but I have more than 2 years of graduate level education with a major or subject area related to the position to be filled. Therefore, I have a combination of experience and education. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your official transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a wide range of social science and social work principles, concepts, and practices relating to victim advocacy and prevention of and response to sexual assault.
Knowledge of laws, regulations, executive orders, issues, etc., to include the Air Force organizational structure, management policies, methods, and practices relating to sexual assault victim advocacy, and related interpersonal violence.
Knowledge of social service delivery systems, methods, and theories relating to victim advocacy, sexual assault/ violence.
Knowledge of training and education techniques to implement and deliver sexual assault training.
Skill in applying tact and diplomacy during interactions with internal and external officials during difficult and sensitive circumstances and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with organizations and individuals to identify, establish, modify and provide victim support/assistance.
Ability to employ various methods and techniques typical of a sexual assault victim advocate program, including crisis intervention, situational assessment, and analyzing the needs of the victim to provide support and/or assistance to them in the resolution of complex problems.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONT.
This position is designated as a key position IAW AFI 36-507. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations. Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternative for filling of the position during an emergency are not available.
