About the Position: This position is located at U.S. Army Futures Command, Deputy Director/Chief of Staff, G-1/2, Human Capital Management & Security Division, at Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, Virginia is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Local Transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus service to the surrounding area which includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, York County, Gloucester, Suffolk, and Smithfield.

Duties

Provide in-depth advice and assistance to management concerning recruitment strategies for all positions at FCC. Coordinate with the servicing Civilian Personnel Advisory Center (CPAC) to provide assistance on recruitment strategies for various types of recruitment actions such as appointments, reassignments, promotions, etc. Evaluate position management in assigned organizations and provides assistance to leadership, managers and supervisors on ways to improve structure, work distribution, and the use of employee skills. Provide technical advice and assistance for all phases of various civilian human resources program management to supervisors and managers within FCC and sub-unified commands.

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Preparing and processing a variety of civilian personnel actions such as recruitment of new employees, promotions, reassignments, awards, training, and discipline; 2) Ensuring personnel actions are technically correct and implemented in a timely manner; 3) Resolving complex, difficult and/or unprecedented classification issues and problems; and 4) Providing advisory services on civilian human resources policies and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer ServicePersonnel and Human ResourcesStaffing & Recruiting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
