About the Position: This position is Human Resources (HR) Specialist (Military) for the Medical Readiness Command, Pacific (MRC, P).

Duties
Provide guidance, and customer service support to the major subordinate commands on all areas of military HR management and regulations, policies and procedures.
Participate in the development and administration of staff projects in various military HR program areas.
Manages the Evaluation Report program for the Medical Readiness Command.
Review changes in DOD and DA policies, procedures, and military personnel messages (MILPER) to identify the impact on the command.
Serve as the regional Personnel Accountability Program Manager (PAPM) for the Army Disaster Personnel Accountability and Assessment System (ADPAAS).

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes applying Military Personnel Management or Military Human Resources Management (HRM) laws, methods, principles, and practices; assisting with advisory services to enlisted soldiers and officers; maintaining a records database for military personnel records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources or Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes planning or organizing the operation of various military personnel programs; providing guidance or interpretations on current and proposed policies for assigned military personnel action programs; and ensuring personnel actions are in compliance with applicable regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources or Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining and operating a military personnel data system, such as Integrated Personnel or Pay Systems; interpreting regulations, policies, guidance, and procedures to determine impact on military personnel programs; preparing military personnel reports to provide status of program(s); and evaluating strength to determine personnel requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
