About the Position: Serves as a Logistic Management Specialist for the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, U. S. Army Sustainment Command, U.S. Army Field Support Brigade, Ft. Liberty, S3 Support Operations, Fort Liberty, North Carolina.
Fort Liberty is known as the "Home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces". Centrally located in the beautiful state of North Carolina, which enjoys seasonably palatable weather year round.
Duties
Serves as a member of the S3, with duties involved in training and exercise planning and execution for an Army Field Support Brigade (AFSB).
Conducts a range of activities related to the planning, training, exercising, and conducting of designated contingency operations as designated by the Brigade and higher authority.
Responsible for assisting in the overall planning and execution of exercises.
Designs, directs, coordinates, and oversees a range of training and exercise activities related to contingency and logistics operations.
Provides support in establishing, maintaining, and improving upon the logistics readiness partnership of the AFSB, field commander, and the national logistics support complex.
Requirements
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Incumbent will be required to work extended hours during training exercises and may be required to live and work under field conditions.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
- In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes designing, planning, and evaluating training and operational logistics exercise activities to improve mission readiness; AND Performing studies of contingency and mobilization plans to ensure logistics support; AND Interpreting policies, regulations, and other applicable guidelines to evaluate planning requirements; AND providing training information during logistics conferences and meetings to senior leaders.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
