You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the ACCOUNTING DIVISION, COMPTROLLER DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $128,043).

Duties

You will serve as Cost Accounting Lead in Corporate Financial Accounting Branch and will lead team in effort to monitor/research/resolve cost and cash transactions/postings. You will work with Department Financial Leads, project analysts, supervisors, and Business and Financial Management personnel to reflect commitments/obligations/costs as a result of the Tri Annual Review/Dormant Account Review Quarterly (DARQ). You will work with FLC/DLA/NSLC and Code 107 to accurately report milstrip costs. You will work with DFAS to ensure cash items are in balance and work to resolve any discrepancies and perform ad hoc analysis and reports as required. You will perform work related to external requests for information or guidance, data calls, or other Cost Accounting functions related to the direct/indirect/service cost center execution/research/monitoring. You will ensure products align to NSWC Crane?s strategic goals and objectives while striving to utilize continuous improvement methods to provide better products and services.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level analyzing and interpreting program funding plans to identify and provide recommendations for current or future funding issues to ensure compliant financial operations.
