You will serve as a DEPUTY S-1 MANPOWER OFFICER in the S-1 Manpower Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR.

Duties

You will implement, administer and review MCAS Miramar's S-1 Manpower operations policies and programs. You will administer applicable policy and procedures promulgated by higher authority, and initiate or direct the correspondence to higher authority. You will assign work to subordinates bases on priorities, difficulty of the work to be performed, and the capabilities of employees. You will approve leave request and assignment to special projects or work details. You will develop performance standards and billet descriptions and evaluates work performance of subordinates.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing the day-to-day operation of S-1 program, directing the administration, management, coordination, development, and timely execution of administrative services.
