This position is located in the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), Policy Office, Law Enforcement Team. Incumbent serves as a Policy Advisor.

Qualifications

MINIMUM FEDERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Qualifying experience for the GS-13 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-12 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include: experience with law enforcement grant programs to include the laws, regulations, rules, policies and procedures for the administration of Federal grants and cooperative agreements; experience formulating guidelines, implementing new developments and providing policy interpretation for law enforcement programs; experience evaluating and monitoring law enforcement programs; or experience as a technical expert in law enforcement grants and/or cooperative agreements.TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications as described above will be further evaluated based upon the following technical qualifications:Knowledge of the laws, regulations, rules, policies, procedures, and methods governing law enforcement programs such as Federal grants and/or cooperative agreements.Ability to provide advice and guidance on law enforcement program policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and guidelines.Ability to plan and execute work in the area of law enforcement.Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing in the area of law enforcement.Ability to communicate in writing in the area of law enforcement.Additional information on the qualification requirements is outlined in the OPM Qualification Standards Handbook of General Schedule Positions and is available at OPM's website: https://www.opm.gov/qualifications/standards/indexes/num-ndx.aspAll qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
