You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the Public Affairs Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG SYSTEMS COMMAND PAC.
Duties
You will develop and improve the Command Internal Communications Program highlighting its people, products and services, and contributions to the Navy and local community.
You will develop and improve the Command External Communications Program to build public trust and confidence by providing external audiences awareness of Command achievements.
You will respond to media requests for information with sensitivity to critical/controversial issues.
You will provide proactive, crisis communication and strategic counsel on public affairs policy and guidance to Command leadership.
You will plan and execute public affairs strategies that support the accomplishment of the command's mission and priorities.
You will utilize various methods and strategies (i.e. newsletters, social media, share-point, formal/informal information to the Command, etc.) to achieve communication goals and objectives.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.

- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing various communication methods including drafting news releases, fact sheets, brochures, or other content that increases communication and understanding with the public; 2) Developing and providing strategic advice to leadership on information when handling challenging or controversial issues impacting an organization; 3) Analyzing public reaction to programs through collection of surveys and feedback to identify options to improve communications internally and with the general public; 4) Preparing and developing responses to routine and complex information requests and inquiries, including providing clarification of agency programs and policies.
