You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist within the Mission Systems Group, Logistics Department and serve as the JSF PMA-235 Avionics (AVI) Deputy Assistant Program Manager of Logistics (DAPML) in the Joint Strike Fighter Program Office (JSFPO), Arlington, VA of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will be responsible managing the total logistics program to ensure the safety of assigned Mission Systems such as F-35 Avionics and Sensor systems. You will be designing and developing Sensor systems by assessing the supportability, maintainability, and sustainability of existing systems. You will provide feedback on technical documentation such as Engineering Proposals, Maintenance Changes, System Configuration and assess the program Integrated Support Plan. You will analyze data to improve the mission capability for improved effectiveness of the Avionics and Sensor systems.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11/12 grade level or DS-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Designing and/or developing Avionics or Sensor systems by assessing the supportability, maintainability, and sustainability of existing systems;2) Recommending feasible design changes and alternatives to system engineers and program managers;3) Providing feedback on technical documentation to include, but not limited to, Engineering Change Proposals, Maintenance Plan Changes, System Baseline Configuration Changes and makes recommendations based on cost, schedule, and performance considerations;4) Analyzing data to identify opportunities to improve the mission capability and effectiveness of Avionics and Sensor systems.
