About the Position: Serves as Chief, Major End Items Division. Responsible for supervising and directing worldwide Department of the Army (DA) logistic operations. Serves as key Army management specialist and Special Advisor and consultant to the Director, Assistant Office of Deputy Chief of Staff (AODCS), G4 and Office of Deputy Chief of Staff (ODCS), G4 (Logistics)(G4).
Duties
Ensure the responsiveness of logistics supply policies to enhance Total Army Readiness.
Supervise the execution of supply management procedures and technical processes.
Incorporate automation to align with established policy for optimal readiness and audit compliance.
Communicate the Army's stance on logistics and supply management matters to key entities such as the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), G4, Congress, OSD, DOD, and DA.
Perform data analysis to solve statistical and quantitative challenges related to Line Item Number (LIN) management, equipment of hand (EOH) readiness, strategic divestment of equipment, and equipment auditability.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position may require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- This is a testing designated position.
- Personnel are required to sign DA Form 5019-R (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as critical under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program).
- Personnel must pass drug screening prior to hiring and will be subject to periodic and random drug testing, thereafter, in accordance with AR 600-85 and Department of Defense Directive 2010.9.

One year of specialized experience which includesdeveloping logistics supply policies, plans, resources, and processes for agency asset management; providing technical and tactical insight to senior leadership, such as: updating policy pertaining to property accountability, providing perceptive solutions to real-time logistical challenges and audit readiness; managing Program Objective Memorandum (POM) in support of the Planning, Programming Budget, and Execution (PPBE) process for Major End Items resourcing requirements; and evaluating the effectiveness of operations supervised, such as: mission accomplishment, quality, and quantity standards, procedural, policy and regulatory compliance, and/or technical competence.
This specialized experience is equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
