You will serve as a Human Resources Assistant in the BUMED HRO (Human Resource Office) of NAVMEDSUP DET SAN DIEGO.
Salary for GS-06 $47,616-$61,897.
Salary for GS-07 $52,912-$68,785.
Duties
You will research and respond to common HR questions, referring more complex issues to assigned specialist or appropriate office and answer general questions from supervisors and employees regarding procedures for classifying positions and appeals.
You will coordinate with activity hiring officials to ensure accuracy of documents for a recruitment action.
You will provide general guidance and assistance in other areas of HR including Staffing/Recruitment and Classification.
You will make decisions, resolve problems or discrepancies based on knowledge of personnel processing rules, regulations, and procedures.
You will review requests for personnel actions (RPAs) for accuracy, keep track of personnel actions and prepare status reports.
You will coordinate on-boarding of new hires; including pre-employment appointments and paperwork, for drug testing, security, credentialing, criminal history background checks and physicals.
You will conduct new employee orientations, including completion of Employment Eligibility Verification (form I-9) and be responsible for entering appropriate information into the e-Verify system in accordance with established timeframes.
You will provide advice and assistance to managers and supervisors in using the range of compensation flexibilities allowed under U.S.C. Title 5, 10 and 38.
You will answer general questions from supervisors and employees regarding procedures for classifying positions and appeals.

Qualifications
FOR THE GS-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-06) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience researching and responding to common HR questions, including recruitment, labor/employee relations, and classification/compensation.
Experience reviewing requests for personnel action (RPA) for accuracy, resolving discrepancies and following up on suspense actions.
Experience reviewing classified position descriptions for completion. (i.e. ensuring position description contains all requirement information and supplemental designations, as well as any and all conditions of employment)
Experience providing advice and assistance to managers and supervisors in using the range of compensation flexibilities allowed under U.S.C. Titles 5, 10, and 38.
FOR THE GS-06:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience performing technical work in the Federal Civilian Human Resources disciplines of Staffing/Recruitment, Classification, and Employee/Labor Relations.
Experience processing Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs) using the Defense Civilian Personnel Database System (DCPDS) or equivalent automated tools.
Experience utilizing a variety of office automation tools and systems (email, word processing, spreadsheet applications, Onboarding Manager, or database management).
