You will serve as a LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Submarine Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) Branch (Code 275), Submarine Programs and Systems Division (Code 270), Engineering Department (Code 200) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.
Duties
You will serve as recognized team leader of organized teams to achieve specific tasks, produce work products and services and meet program and production goals.
You will ensure that MARMC?s strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team?s strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services.
You will lead the team in: identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established work flow, skill level and/or occupational specialization.
You will train team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects and provide for specific administrative or technical training necessary for accomplishment of individual and team tasks.
You will research, learn and apply a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze and improve team effectiveness, efficiency and work products.
You will lead functional checkouts, tests, and inspections of major systems.
You will serve as the Submarine Total Ship Readiness Program (TSRP) Lead of all assigned units
as determined by COMSUBLANT to include various submarine assessment programs.
You will provide technical assistance on less urgent but, complex technical problems beyond the capability of forces afloat, intermediate maintenance activities, or repair activities to diagnose and correct.
You will perform special engineering analyses and studies in support of Commander, Submarine Force Atlantic and Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA) for the purpose of developing improvements in design, maintenance procedures, material, etc.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience in the installation, operation, alteration, maintenance and readiness of shipboard equipment and services such as Integrated Combat Systems (ICS), electronic systems suite, nonnuclear engineering systems/equipment, sensors, Hull Mechanical & Electrical systems (HM&E) and ILS products;
Experience with associated engineering disciplines (e.g. mechanical, electrical, electronic, and structural) in order to solve unique and difficult problems affecting the overall system;
Experience understanding and interpreting plans, schematics, drawings and specifications and make field adjustments/modifications as required;
Experience recognizing and reporting errors, inconsistencies or other deficiencies in technical schematics, drawings;
Experience identifying, evaluating, and recommending appropriate solutions to resolve complex interrelated problems and issues.
