About the Position: The position is for a Budget Analyst with Arlington National Cemetery, located in Arlington, VA. Since May of 1864, Arlington National Cemetery has served as the nation's premier military cemetery and shrine honoring those men and women who served in the Armed Forces.

Duties

Review and analyze audit trails of business area expenses, Program Budget Decisions (PBD) and other sources of resource information related to the year of execution. Prepare budget guidance, revenue-expense plans, capital purchase obligation plans, outlay projections, and required limitations, ceilings, floors and targets. Analyze monthly and quarterly reports delineating revenues, sales, credit, obligations, expenses, net outlays, direct labor hours, manpower levels, capital program obligations and Net Operating Results and/or unit cost goals. Tracks progress against and ensures compliance with unit cost goals and all statutory and/or administrative limitations. Compile responses to inquiries on account matters in response to audits, reviews, inspections, reconciliation, visits by high level executives, studies or analyses on account issues.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring the execution of a budget with many different sources and types of funding; identifying and analyzing trends in the receipt, obligation, or expenditure of funds; reviewing, editing, and consolidating annual and multi-year budget estimates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget AdministrationBudget ExecutionPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
