About the Position: Serves as Operations Research System Analyst within the Strategic Analysis Integration Division of the Center for Army Analysis, Fort Belvoir, VA. Serves as an analyst for existing and emerging models, simulations, and analytic tools providing strong professional, analytical, and scientific expertise. Duties
Develop plans to enable the organization to converge models, simulations, analysis tools, and data efforts for migration to cloud and edge
computing.
Make sound recommendations for model upgrades to senior leadership based on sound scientific principles.
Lead the implementation and documentation of approved technical solutions without loss or degradation of the existing model, simulation, or
tool capability.
Present future budget requirements for planned models, simulations, and analysis tools for approval to Senior leaders.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the
duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Operations Research Analysis: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus. (NOTE) Must provide transcripts.
In addition to meeting the basic entry qualification requirements, applicants must have the specialized experience listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Integrating knowledge of data architecture, modeling/simulation, software development, and project management principles to ensure uninterrupted delivery of accurate decision support analysis; 2) applies knowledge of theater-level warfighting principles and institutional strategic concerns to identify and advise agency leadership on the agency's analytical program; or 3)plans and executes approved efforts through leadership of cross-agency mixed civilian-military-contractor teams.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
