You will serve as an IT Specialist (Application Software) in the Office of Chief Information Officer at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC).
Duties
Duties described below are at the full-performance level. Duties assigned at a lower grade level will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of selected employee.
Develops software and/or firmware, for example, to support data science, embedded systems, communications systems, VR/AR systems, and other projects.
Defines, designs and implements product features and systems capabilities.
Engineers software in compliance with organizational standards, policies, and procedures. Prepares and presents organizational and project technical reviews and status briefings.
Plans and executes research and development activities, innovates and solves technical problems.
Supports all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, system design, software development, testing, documentation, and maintenance, for a complex software system/application.
Provides technical guidance and works with other programmers and engineers.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level.
programming in C or C++ (e.g. for embedded systems, or network protocol implementation, or C++ libraries, and data processing);
assisting with code debugging for inconsistencies or failures;
supporting full stack software development, including front end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), structured and unstructured database management, version control, and/or web hosting platforms; and
assisting personnel or teams to deliver solutions and working with contractors on development efforts.
To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level.

conducting full stack software development efforts, including front end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), structured and unstructured database management, version control, and/or web hosting platforms; and

AND
IF you are qualifying based on experience, you MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
