The selectee for this position will serve as a Firefighter (Paramedic) in the AC/S Security and Emergency Services Division of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Duties
You will prioritize emergency treatment of patients suffering from multiple traumas to stabilize the patient and increase their chance of survival.
You will respond to emergencies as a member of an Engine Company, Truck Company, Rescue Company, Hazardous Materials Team and/or a Rescue Team with associated vehicle and equipment.
You will employ hazardous material response procedures and equipment to mitigate dangerous combustible material incidents.
You will Participate in daily training and instruction classes covering all phases of fire protection, fire prevention and emergency medical services.
You will perform thorough safety and maintenance inspections on emergency transport vehicles and provide first echelon maintenance repairs as required.

- You will be required to posses a current valid United States drivers license.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- Selectee must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a California Department of Motor Vehicles Firefighter Endorsement and Successful Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) certification.
- Selectee must be able and willing to work varying and/or rotating shifts and the selectee must be willing to work a 72 hour work week or 24 hour on/off work schedule.
- You may be required to work on fire assignments for extended period of time (up to 14 days).

GS-08: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: serving as a Firefighter AND Paramedic providing emergency medical response and treatment (e.g., Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); basic, intermediate, and advanced life support (ALS); airway management, emergency childbirth, mass casualty triage), rescue operations (e.g., high and low angle rescue, trench confined space rescue, auto extrication) and transporting emergency personnel and patients safely to emergency room.
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: serving as a Firefighter AND Paramedic performing and providing structural and wild land firefighting, emergency medical response and treatment (e.g., Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); basic, intermediate, and advanced life support (ALS); airway management, emergency childbirth, mass casualty triage), rescue operations (e.g., high and low angle rescue, trench confined space rescue, auto extrication), hazardous materials response, responding to airfield and aircraft emergencies, and transporting emergency personnel and patients safely to emergency room.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Selectee is required to obtain and maintain (GS-08) a Department of Defense (DoD), ProBoard or International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) Firefighter I and II level certification within a maximum of 24 months of appointment.
Selectee is required to obtain and maintain (GS-08) a DoD, ProBoard or IFSAC HazMat Awareness and HazMat Operations certification within a maximum of 24 months of appointment.
Selectee is required to possess (GS-09) a DoD, ProBoard or IFSAC Firefighter I and II level certification.
Selectee is required to possess (GS-09) DoD, ProBoard or IFSAC HazMat Awareness and HazMat Operations certification.
Selectee must possess a valid state driver's license. Selectee must be able to obtain a valid State of California Department of Motor Vehicles Firefighter Endorsement within thirty (30) days of appointment.
Selectee must possess a valid State of California Paramedic License or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians - Paramedic (EMT-P) certification.
Selectee must obtain and maintain a valid county of San Diego accreditation within sixty (60) days of appointment.
GS-08: Minimum qualification is Paramedic certification and a valid driver's license is required and the incumbent must be able to obtain a valid California State Class "A" or "B" Modified License within 30 days of appointment.
GS09: Selectee must successfully complete any and all training to include IFSAC Firefighter I and II levels in a maximum of 24 months.
