You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INDUSTRIAL SPECIALIST (SHIPS) acting as a Class Team Lead (Branch Head) In the Waterfront Operations Department (WFO) Code 300 of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.
Duties
You provides contract administrative services for ship repair work conducted by contractors who are working under complex ship repair contracts for the fleet.
You will provide project management for scheduled availabilities, continuous maintenance, and emergent work on assigned Amphibious Ships.
You will be accountable for administering the contract and associated contractor actions throughout contract execution as specified in the period of performance.
You will review work and is held technically accountable for actions taken and advice provided.
You will act as the business agent for MARMC with other activities involved in the assigned availability contracts.
You will review specifications to ensure completeness and conformance to authorized work.
You will manage ship repair job orders and contracts by progressing/monitoring all work so as to anticipate, prevent, or minimize delays.
You will focus management attention on these problems by recommending corrective action to the responsible MARMC department or other authority.
You will provide accurate and timely responses to data calls from higher authority or customers associated with Division ships.
You will compile and present command/flag level briefings involving maintenance planning, execution, or process metric issues.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience in ship repair and shipbuilding procedures, or overhaul and production methods/process, and of quality control/assurance requirements;
Experience planning, estimating, scheduling, and expediting labor, machines, and materials in an industrial environment;
Experience in funding management and accounting procedures, methods, and practices to comply with regulations/laws regarding receipt, maintenance, and transfer of funds;
Experience compiling and presenting command/flag level briefings involving maintenance planning, and execution;
Experience in contract administration and procurement regulations;
Experience planning/coordinating the work of subordinates, setting/adjusting priorities and preparing work completion schedules.
