The position will serve as an Administrative Support Assistant to the Facility Telehealth Coordinator, Lead Care Coordinator, and other staff of the Home Telehealth (HT) Program. Duties are varied, non-routine, and consist of handling data and coordination for program patients. The position will serve as a point of contact for patients, medical center staff, VISN staff, community agencies, and various others who contact this office.
Duties
This position is covered by AFGE bargaining unit. Per the AFGE Master Agreement, the Area of Consideration will be: 1st Area of Consideration - Current Facility and CBOC employees; 2nd Area of Consideration - VA Nationwide applicants; 3rd Area of Consideration - Other Status candidates.
Duties include:
Analyzes and solves problems in a positive and goal oriented manner.
Tracks and trends issues related to program effectiveness.
Uses statistical data to compile a monthly workload reports.
Develops and changes spreadsheets in order to graphically display data.
Uses MS Word or comparable word processing software to execute several office automation functions such as storing and retrieving electronic documents and files; activating printers; inserting and deleting text; formatting letters, reports, and memoranda; and transmitting and receiving e-mail.
Develops presentations.
Compiles and submits various budget reports.
Maintains calendar of appointments of patients, meetings, conference calls, and scheduled leave as well as coordinates meetings and assists with travel documentation.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; 7:30am-4:00pm.
Telework: Adhoc Telework may be available once three month orientation is completed.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/27/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-05 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-04. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
In addition to meeting the above Time-In-Grade requirements, applicants must also meet the experience directly relevant to this position.
Typing Proficiency: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Analyze and solve problems in a positive, goal-oriented manner; provide clear, well-defined recommendations to resolve all or most of the unusual situations without supervisory referral through a variety of interpersonal skills and program knowledge.
Utilize a wide variety of software programs, including Access, Microsoft Word, and Excel to input and retrieve data as required.
Communicate in a positive professional manor verbally and in writing with a variety of people from different backgrounds and different levels of understanding.
Design, write, and review policies and data collection forms/techniques to assure compliance with reporting requirements and validity of the product.
Explain numerous clinical guidelines, government laws directives and policies is required in order to provide information to individuals representing a myriad of educational and cultural backgrounds.
OR,
Education: Successfully completed four (4) years of education above the high school level in any field which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. (Transcripts must be submitted at time of application).

Combination of Specialized Experience and Education: Equivalent combination of successfully completed post-high school education (beyond the second year) and specialized experience as described above, which meet the total experience requirements for this grade level. NOTE: Transcripts (unofficial or official) must be submitted with your application materials. Education cannot be credited without documentation. Experience must be clearly indicated in your resume.

Physical Requirements: The work is basically sedentary but requires walking, standing, bending and carrying light items such as books, papers, office supplies and Telehealth equipment. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. The position must be flexible in adjusting to constant changes in the workload.
