You will serve as a TRAINING TECHNICIAN in the MARINER SKILLS TRAINING CENTER ATLANTIC (MSTCLANT) of SURFACE WARFARE OFFICERS SCHOOL. Salary Range for GS-05: $38,162.00 - $49,615.00 Salary Range for GS-06: $42,541.00 - $55,300.00

Duties

You will use automated systems to enter, maintain, and retrieve information from databases. You will arrange travel or training orders for staff members by using automated systems (e.g., Defense Travel System [DTS]). You will update the student diary to ensure all students' information is accurate and complete. You will prepare, maintains, or distributes various office records and files for students. You will perform duties as a Command Pay and Personnel Administrator (CPPA).

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications

GS-06 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using an automated system to manage various administrative support tasks (e.g. payroll, travel requests, and/or personnel actions); 2) Creating and reviewing official correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other documents to ensure proper grammar, spelling, format and attachments; 3) Interpreting an organization's policies and procedures to provide administrative support to staff and/or students; and 4) Conducting entry and exit processing for personnel during transfers. GS-05 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using office automation applications (i.e., Microsoft Office, Access, and Excel) to retrieve information and produce emails, reports, graphs and charts; 2) Creating official correspondence, memoranda, and other documents with proper grammar, spelling, format and attachments; 3) Applying knowledge of policies and procedures to provide administrative support for personnel; and 4) Creating and maintaining an office file system. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of four years of education above high school
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience
