You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the ENVIRONMENTAL DEPARTMENT of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.
Duties
You will manage air quality programs aboard MCAS, Yuma and associated ranges.
You will review applicable regulations, coordinate and recommend programs and actions to ensure base compliance with air quality mandates.
You will provide guidance to base personnel in the implementation of base programs.
You will oversee programs and recommend actions required to ensurebase compliance with air quality mandates.
You will perform site visits giving guidance and information to insure compliance with Federal, State, and local environmental regulations.
Requirements
- This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Training requirements within the first 3 to 6 months: EPA Method 9 Smoke School, Air Quality Management course, EOD Dud brief, Flight line driver license class.
- Training requirements within the first year: advance Air quality Management course, Emergency Planning and Community Right to know Act (EPCRA), and RCRA Hazardous waste training.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Coordinating environmental matters for an organization including environmental program compliance, pollution inspections, and managing air quality programs; Overseeing and coordinating environmental compliance audits and inspections; and Developing, implementing, and coordinating an environmental program.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify for the GS-11 position based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR
Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
