About the Position: The incumbent serves as a Public Affairs Specialist United States Army Europe Africa, HHBN V Corps, MCP/COFS/COFS&SGS SEC, Office Public Affairs Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Duties
Advises the Commander and Command Group on all aspects of the Fort Knox-wide community relations function including current or planned community activities, programs, policies, legislation and ordinances.
Serve as the community relations point of contact for the Fort Knox installation and ensure collaboration and dissemination of information among on-post and off-post organizations.
Inform and cross-train other specialists in the execution of the community relations program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to work extended and/or other than normal duty hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime to the extent determined by the supervisor.
- Must be able perform a Temporary Change of Station (TCS) for not less than 6 months, but no more than 30 months.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Forces Certificate of License.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government driver’s license to operate non-tactical vehicle/transportation motor pool (NTV/TMP) vehicles such as a sedan or small passenger van.
- Must be able to work under austere living conditions, as well as share accommodation under field conditions (containers, tents and/or barracks).
- Must be able to perform business related travel up to 60% of the time.
- Must be able to receive inoculations IAW DoD requirements for travel to specific countries.
- Must be able to travel using military transportation or non-commercial means of travel.
