About the Position: Service as a Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist with U.S. Army Recruiting Command, Office of the Commanding General located at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Duties
Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with print and broadcast media representatives.
Serves as principal advisor to the Organization.
Develops and provides responses to national and international media queries.
Develops communications strategies on recruiting topics.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
- Supervisory probationary period MAY be required.
- Business travel (TDY) may be required up to 30%.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Resume must show one year of specialized experience equivalent at the next lower grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involves (1) Developing new information materials including news releases, fact sheets, brochures, booklets, broadcast spots that promotes awareness of the agencies mission and/or activities; (2) Producing a variety of innovative written materials, including speeches, articles, talking points, news releases and briefings; (3) Maintaining relationships with major broadcast networks and/or national newspapers. This experience is equivalent to the next lower grade in the Federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
Education
