About the Position: This position is assigned to U.S. Army Human Resources Command (USAHRC) Public Affairs Office. The purpose of the work is to plan, develop, coordinate, and assist with the execution of various public affairs communication strategies and programs supporting the Command's diverse Public Information and Media Relations campaigns, Command Information efforts and personnel-related initiatives.
Duties
Perform content review of Army web pages.
Advisor to senior leaders on communication planning. Plan communication initiatives to increase support for Army mission and operations.
Plan communication initiatives to increase support for Army mission and operations.
Conduct social media activities to enhance communication awareness and transparency.
Coordinate community relations and engagement events and activities.
Compose command information products for distribution to global audience.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a two year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
- Temporary Duty Travel at 10% at a time.

GS-12 Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as: Work that involves planning communication strategies in a public affairs program; develop and disseminate informational materials to employees, the news media and the general public; develop content for websites and social media platforms. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent.
