About the Position: Serves as a public affairs specialist at a large multi-mission military installation with responsibility in the Public Affairs Office as the Fort Knox senior Community Relations Officer and Social Media Manager.
Duties
Advises the Commander and Command Group on all aspects of the Fort Knox-wide community relations function including current or planned community activities, programs, policies, legislation and ordinances.
Serves as the community relations point of contact for the Fort Knox installation and ensures collaboration and dissemination of information among on-post and off-post organizations, in addition to coordinating actions as required or applicable.
Informs and cross-trains other specialists in the execution of the community relations program.
Serves as the point of contact for managing all aspects of Fort Knox web content and social media platforms.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position requires the incumbent to work an irregular schedule to include working nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
