About the Position: This is a Public Affairs Specialist position is located at MCP/COFS/COFS&SGS Sec Office Public Affairs with duty location of Ft. Knox, KY.
Duties
Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the Command Information and American media-oriented activities of the Public Affairs Office.
Multimedia design of command information used to visually impact both internal and external audiences.
Serve as a member of various committees organized to plan and conduct special events and ceremonies/observances.
Assist in the coordination and direction of V Corps originated information to include command videos, feature articles, visual information and other graphics.
Originate and prepare news information and other informational material for release to English language newspapers, radio, TV stations and wire services.
Analyze trends and general maintenance of positive press and public relations through the area.
Develop policies and procedures to improve operations and track ongoing task accomplishments of V Corp employees.
Present decision and information briefings to V Corps staff principals.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 60% of the time.
- Must be willing and able to travel on commercial and military aircrafts.
- This position requires Test and Evaluation certification in acquisition career field of Test and Evaluation within 60 months of entry into the position.
- Incumbent must be able perform a Temporary Change of Station (TCS) for not less than 6 months, but no more than 30 months
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain a valid US Army in Europe (USAREUR) Driver's License.
- Incumbent mt be able to obtain and maintain a US Forces Certificate of License.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a government driver's license to operate non-tactical vehicle/transportation motor pool (NTV/TMP) vehicles such as a sedan or small passenger van.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Incumbent must be able to work under austere living conditions, as well as share accommodation under field conditions (containers, tents and/or barracks).
- Incumbent must be able to receive inoculations IAW DoD requirements for travel to specific countries.
- This position requires the incumbent to work an irregular schedule to include working nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Incumbent must be able to travel using military transportation or non-commercial means of travel.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 level in the Federal service which includes planning or directing public affairs communication and media-oriented activities.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
