You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT, ACIO/INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.
Duties
You will serve as the Network Lead within the Information Technology Operations Branch of the Corporate Operations Department.
You will develop new procedures or innovative strategies to address specific network-related challenges.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all non-NMCI core network infrastructures and systems within the command are properly validated, assessed, authorized, and maintained
You will oversee day-to-day technical and project management responsibilities.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to manage network infrastructure projects and tasking, ensuring that all environments are continuously assessed, maintained, and authorized for operation.
You will ensure that network security policies and measures are in place. This includes intrusion detection/prevention systems and encryption methods.
You will work closely with other IT departments, such as systems administrators, security teams, and application developers, to ensure network
compatibility and optimal performance.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate the following four IT competencies;
1). Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: implementation of Information Technology (IT) concepts, design, development, evaluation, testing, installation and maintenance of electronic equipment.
2). Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Providing advice and guidance in implementing IT policies and procedures in the development and operation of network systems to meet sponsor/customer requirements.
3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Facilitate successful execution of IT programs through teamwork, effective communication, and inclusion.
4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT related experience demonstrating this competency include: Exercise/implement experimental approaches, theories, or hypotheses to solve network problems without the benefit of traditional methods.
In addition to the 4 competencies above your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11/12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: applying information technology network systems methods to provide network services that support business requirements.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
