Duties
You will serve as the department’s Senior Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) leading agile software design, development and modernization efforts including DevSecOps, services and Cloud Technologies for web-based applications.
You will serve as the department’s senior Solution/Technical Architect lead overseeing design and development of a wide range of complex web-based software systems.
You will serve as the department’s senior technical SME providing coaching and mentoring to developers on design patterns, architectures, frameworks, coding best practices, and related technical subject matters.
You will serve as the recognized expert at the departmental level in one or more application development domain areas.
You will lead department level initiatives on emerging technologies, cyber security and modernization efforts in support of command’s strategic goals and objectives.
You will serve as a senior software engineer performing a wide range of complex Information Technology (IT) duties associated with various programming languages, tools and technologies including software design, coding, development etc.
You will be involved in developing, interpreting, and enforcing IT policies, procedures and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services throughout the organization
You will provide technical guidance and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on varied technologies, modern architecture and multiple IT systems.

Qualifications
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

In addition:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate experience in the following areas:
1. Defining software architecture, leading architecture discussions, and making architectural decisions.
2. Designing and architecting full-stack development (example: SOA, API architecture or other modern design patterns)
3. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), API development, RESTful services, and integrations with third-party systems.
4. Leading development teams and mentoring developers
5. Providing technical advice, recommendations and empirical data to senior leadership on a wide range of technical matters
6. A wide range of code development, programming languages, web application development and scripting languages such as Java, C#, .NET, JSON, Python, TypeScript, SQL, XML etc.
7. Leading large-scale web application projects from design through to deployment.
8. Cloud Platform, including deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud-based applications and services.
9. Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and a wide range of automation tools and technologies involved in DevSecOps implementations.
