This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for leading digital transformation and IT modernization, collaborating with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical designs. Modernizing legacy systems, integrating new technologies, and creating scalable technology roadmaps. Evaluating technologies, ensuring seamless system integration, and staying updated on emerging trends to optimize the organization's architecture.
Duties
As a IT Specialist (ENTARCH/SYSANALYSIS) at the GS-2210-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Develop comprehensive technical architectural blueprints for complex IT systems, outlining components, interactions, and data flows.
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and align solutions with organizational goals.
Research, evaluate, and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, and tools to meet project objectives, considering factors like scalability, performance, and security.
Establish and maintain technical architectural guidelines, principles, and standards to ensure consistency and quality across IT solutions.
Validate that proposed solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements, including performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
Identify potential risks and challenges in the solution architecture, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate them to stakeholders.
Continuously research and evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Develop clear and concise documentation of the solution architecture, including diagrams, specifications, and rationale.
Work effectively with development, infrastructure, security, and other teams to ensure successful solution delivery.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS 13 grade level in the Federal service:
Technical Architectural Design: Leading the design and technical architecture of end-to-end solutions that drive digital transformation and IT modernization initiatives; Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with business leaders, project managers, and development teams to translate business requirements into technical solution designs; Legacy Systems Modernization: Assessing and recommending strategies for modernizing legacy systems, ensuring seamless integration with new technologies, and enabling the transition from monolithic technical architectures to microservices, containers, and serverless computing; Technology Roadmaps: Creating and maintaining technology roadmaps that align with business objectives and ensure future scalability; Solution Evaluation: Evaluating and recommending technologies, tools, and platforms that align with the organization's strategic goals and technological roadmap; Integration: Overseeing the integration of various systems and technologies, ensuring seamless interoperability and communication between components and ensuring all solutions adhere to best practices and comply with relevant regulations and IT standard; and Innovation: Staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance and optimize the organization's technical architecture and technology stack.
