You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the SECURITY DIVISION; CORPORATE OPERATIONS of SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING BATH.

Duties

You will serve as a member of the Security Team in the Resource Management Directorate, at SUPSHIP Bath (SSBA), and will be primarily responsible for information, personnel and industrial security at the Command. You will develop, implement and monitor internal policy, instructions, procedures and control systems for Information Security. You will coordinate the SSBA security education/awareness program for approximately 500 military, civilian and Navy contractor personnel. You will inspect and evaluate overall security programs of assigned DoD contractor facilities. You will advise the SSBA Contracts Officer on security requirements of classified contracts, subcontracts and Invitations for Bid (IFB) issued by SSBA. You will review, approve, and monitor Access Control Plans (ACPs) submitted by private contractors for the control of non-US citizens access. You will approve requests for non-US citizens to perform work inside the Controlled Industrial Area of the contractors' shipyards.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience, one year of which was equivalent to the NH-01 pay band (or GS-04 equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, necessary to perform the duties of the position to be filled. General experience must demonstrate the ability to: 1) Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; 2) Plan and organize work; and 3) Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Education

In lieu of general experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
  • Successful completion of a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree; OR
  • A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
