You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Resource Management Directorate of SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING BATH.

Duties

You will be responsible for issuing Common Access Cards (CACs) to military, civilian, and contractor personnel. You will manage the Naval Regional Enterprise Messaging System (NREMS) to include classified and unclassified messages. You will determine the type of security investigation required for employees based on types of access needed or the position occupied. You will ensure compliance with command minor property internal control program. You will coordinate with technical procurement officials to ensure that security requirements are met when classified information is provided to industry. You will perform a wide variety of administrative assignments in support of the security programs as required.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• Temporary changes in work schedules may be necessary to satisfy command requirements.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector interpreting and applying policies and regulations to assist in proposing changes to improve security controls. Examples of specialized experience include most or all of the following; 1) Reviewing reports of investigations, personnel files, or other relevant data; 2) Adjudicating investigative results; 3) Developing solutions for complex security problems; 4) Performing administrative assignments in support of security programs. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

A master's or equivalent graduate degree

OR

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

OR

LL.B. or J.D., if related

Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
