About the Position: The U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY is an academic institution located in the Hudson River Valley, 50 miles from New York City. The historic site is the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. West Point is a self-contained city with housing, a Department of Public Works, libraries, hospital, fire department, chapels, and restaurants. Employees have access to Eisenhower Hall Theater, Hudson Valley's performing arts center, and recreational facilities.

Duties

Responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, synchronizing, and integrating maintenance operations and programs. As the Chief and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for maintenance support services, the incumbent provides direction and oversight of the U.S. Military Academy (USMA) maintenance program. Serves as the principal point of contact (POC) responsible for planning, coordinating, and integrating maintenance support operations. Serves as the installation senior maintenance representative. Oversees logistics management functions that involve the planning, coordinating and evaluation logistical actions. Directs, coordinates, and monitors Field Level and Sustainment Level maintenance support for all assigned equipment and materiel.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
  • This position requires Contracting Officer Representative (COR) training in accordance with DoD Instruction 5000.72.
  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
