About the Position: This position is located at the Logistics Readiness Center (LRC), U.S. Military Academy, West Point, New York.
Duties
Serve as Director of a Logistics Readiness Center (LRC), overseeing all phases of the Organization's program and work.
Convey leadership, guidance, and coordination for the formulation of plans, policies, and objectives of the Logistics Readiness Center.
Provide extensive staff advice and policy guidance on a wide array of planning and management issues, policies, and practices related to assigned areas.
Execute technical guidance and direction to chiefs of functional areas of supply management, transportation, food service, ammunition management, clothing issue, laundry, equipment maintenance, and retail.
Execute technical guidance and direction to chiefs of functional areas of bulk fuels, oils and lubricants, inter/intra-service support agreements, commercial industrial-type functions, property accountability and materiel readiness.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires you to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest. This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter.
- This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
- In a "Key" position, you must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment of sustaining base operations during mobilization.
- In a "Key" position, you may be required to take part in readiness exercises, that you must be removed from military recall status, and that you may not join a reserve unit during mobilization to obtain and maintain this position.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster), you are required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless you have previously met the requirements. While probationary, you can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 20% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Directing and/or managing maintenance, supply, ammunition, food service, laundry, transportation, property accountability, clothing, and/or other related logistical activities; (2) Evaluating logistical activities to enhance or improve logistics operations and/or services; (3) Developing long-range logistics assistance plans to include budgetary and/or personnel requirements; (4) Directing the formulation of an organization's operating budget based upon knowledge of operating programs, programmed expenditures and/or operating costs; and (5) Leading or managing a workforce with a variety of occupations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-14).
