Army Materiel Command (AMC) is the Army's primary logistics and sustainment command, responsible for managing the global supply chain and ensuring installation and materiel readiness across the Total Force.

Duties

Serves as the principal to the Director, Logistics Readiness Center (LRC), Army Field Support Brigade (AFSB), U.S. Army Sustainment Command (ASC). Serves as the advisor to the director on policy matters affecting operations, including financial management; acquisition management; organization and staffing. Reviews and evaluates the status of programs and determines resources in terms of facilities funding and personnel utilization. Responsible for conducting staff studies covering all aspects of logistical operations. Conducts surveys and studies of supply operations to determine proper application of improved logistics methods.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) assisting with the operational planning of a logistics program (2) assisting with maintenance/or safety operations in order to provide logistical support; and (3) utilizing automated logistics tracking system(s). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Information ManagementOral CommunicationSafety ManagementSupply SupportTechnical Data Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
