About the Position: This position is located at Fort Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville.
Duties
Develops comprehensive plans for the integration of day-to-day and long-range projects, actions and activities requiring the involvement of the Deputy Garrison Commander (DGC) and/or Executive Officer (XO).
Serves as consultant and advisor to the DGC and key operating officials on procedural and administrative matters pertaining to administrative management of the command.
Uses varied functions of several types of word processing software such as electronic mail, calendar, graphics and database management.
Prepares a wide variety of documents, speeches, position papers and briefings for senior level officials.
Manages the operational schedule of the DGC and XO and develops and maintains the Garrison’s long-range calendar, Exercising control over the appointments with authority for commitment of time.
Forecasts potential requirements, de-conflicts problems, and plans and projects time for historically recurring requirements.
Provides sound, mature advice and counsel to the DGC and/or XO on the credible orchestration of events and activities.
Answers inquiries and makes referrals as appropriate.
Deals with organizational matters of confidentiality and sensitivity.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Tier 3 - Non-Critical-Sensitive, Moderate Risk - Secret.
- Position requires lifting of up to 40 lbs.

Specialized Experience for in-service applicants (i.e., those with current or prior Federal competitive or excepted service): One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating schedules, calendars, and projects for a level equivalent to a Garrison Commander level or senior military official; providing advice and recommendations on the administrative aspects of actions, events, and activities; serving as a liaison between directorates/organizations for administrative management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
