About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Rucker is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding area for family and fun.
Duties
Enter data into an automated flight records system such as Centralized Aviation Flight Records System (CAFRS) in accordance with applicable regulations.
Prepare and validate forms required for flight records management, such as DA Form 759 series documents.
Update flight records remarks in Individual Flight Records Folder (IFRF) to reflect aviator/crewmember current status.
Review and file documents pertaining to aviator/crewmember medical qualification for flying duty, such as DA Form 4186 and or DD Form 2992, in IFRF and automated flight records system.
Collect data as required for the preparation of reports pertaining to the maintenance and management of flight records.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- May required to travel TDY up to 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: creating and maintaining Individual Flight Records Folder (IFRF) for all permanent party, student, contractor, and tenant activity Aviation Crewmembers using a database such as Centralized Aviation Flight Records System (CAFRS), checking flight data for correct format and calculations, receiving, validating and posting documents in individual IFRF and CAFRS to reflect medical grounding or removal from grounding as appropriate. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05 or above).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
