About the Position: Overseeing various logistical projects and programs and providing logistical support in the areas of material, training, and mobility readiness. This position is located at U.S. Forces Command at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

Duties

Manages subordinate staff to ensure they are adhering to command programs, policies, and directives. Prepares narrative analysis and presents staff briefings on status of logistics matters within the organization. Prepares command reports and directives based on field visits, including observations, findings, and recommendations for resolution. Oversees all operational logistics and sustainment aspects of the Army Campaign Plan. Makes recommendations regarding Logistics and Sustainment aspects of the Army Enterprise Concepts. Develops revision of command policies, procedures, practices, and regulations and methods for improving, simplifying, and standardizing logistics operations within the command. Makes frequent staff visits to installations and the higher and adjacent headquarters to evaluate, coordinate, and review programs and procedures regarding general logistics matters. Addresses problems such as personnel staffing, funding, supply and maintenance procedures, responsiveness of supply support, and attainment of prescribed standards.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • The duties of this position require the selectee to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Organizational AwarenessPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
