You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Navy Public Works Center of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will ensure quality and timely services are provided to support the execution of maintenance and construction projects at various locations within NAVFAC Southwest.
You will coordinate all aspects and phases of project work to ensure timely completion and execution within budgets to meet client needs.
You will prepare planning documents, job plans, material lists, investigations, space utilization studies, engineering estimates, etc., for various facilities, electrical and mechanical systems, and projects.
You will meet with customers to determine requirements and ensure mutual understanding of needs for accurate scopes of work, job plans, and cost estimates.
You will conduct field visits to inspect work and investigate details to support statements of work, job plans, and government cost estimates.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting and evaluating technical information received from maintenance and construction projects, determining the urgency, and making effective decisions independently; 2) Analyzing processes used in facility maintenance and construction management activities and projects to make recommendations for changes; 3) Using complex computerized facility and work order management systems; 4) Deciphering information from original equipment manufacturer's manuals to make decisions independently in order to provide work packages and job hazard analysis (JHA); and 5) Developing scopes of work, contract performance standards, and government cost estimates.
