About the Position: This position is located in US ARMY SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND DCS, G-4 SYSTEMS SUSTAINMENT DIVISION FORT LIBERTY, NC
Duties
Perform unit field studies and material readiness/mobilization evaluations and analyses of an assigned system or type of equipment for different activities within the Army Special operations Command (USASOC).
Prepare recurring analyses of the readiness performance of designated systems/equipment assigned to activities and units.
Prepare a variety of readiness studies of a broad and technical nature which may impact readiness related policies or require precedent setting solutions.
Conduct short and long-range planning involving operations research and systems analysis to assure adequate resources are available to maintain a continuing awareness of system/equipment readiness.
Apply the principles of life cycle management, considers facilities, equipment, geographic/climatic conditions, and usage projections to plan and implement comprehensive logistics programs.
Develop and analyze logistics support policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, any changes thereto, and their impact on current support operations.
Serve as Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) responsible for ensuring the proper utilization of government funds, and that the work performed is within the scope of the contract.
Provides technical input to Defense Retail Inter-Service Support (DRIS) agreements.
Perform systems analyses of complex programs and major problems associated with automated logistics systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Preparing logistics evaluations; Overseeing logistics policies, regulations, and procedures in support of equipment management; Handling the life cycle of logistic programs and systems; Preparing reports for presentation; Performing proficiently with GCSS-A, LDAC, and FMS Web logistics information systems; and Providing equipment system support, Researching, and/or resolving deficiencies and Familiarization with MS Excel and Power BI tools. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
