About the Position: Serves as a Public Affairs Specialist for Headquarters U.S. Army Contracting Command (ACC).Responsible for managing and conducting public information and media relations programs for all of ACC.
Duties
Serves as Action Officer and is responsible for the oversight of Congressional Liaison requirements, which are characterized by unique requirements and demand continued oversight.
Provides administrative coordination for staff actions and correspondence.
Responsible for coordinating matters that may or have become the subject of congressional interest, inquiry or investigation.
Responds in oral and written form to information requests from local, regional, and national community leaders about the ACC mission.
Develops and writes informational materials designed to reach national, regional, and local audiences through wire services, radio, television and daily and weekly newspapers.
Researches, writes and edits news articles.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Occasionally TDY may be required
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing new methods, communication strategies, plans and products that cover the full spectrum of a strategic communication program; writing, editing and presenting information on a wide variety of subjects using a vast array of written, visual and oral presentation formats, techniques and media; directing the development and execution of communications products and projects.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02).
