About the Position: Serves as a Public Affairs Specialist in the U.S. Army Materiel Command developing and implementing the command strategic communications program, as well as conducting a public information program.

Duties

Manage the content and design of an external web site and digital media platforms. Develop articles, speeches and correspondence for public release to specified media and audiences. Prepare talking points and messaging for engagements, interviews, presentations, executive summaries and related communications media. Develop informational materials, such as event briefs, fact sheets, publications, brochures and booklets, to increase relationships with various target audiences. Coordinate senior leader participation in community events.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
